Other ways you can help

Refer clients to our clinicians
This is what we’re all about. The Center for Personal & Relational Development runs on client revenue almost exclusively, and clients are how our therapists build their practices, obtain their hours towards licensure, and earn a reasonable income. More than anything, working with clients is what we love and are most qualified to do!

Contribute to our Launch a Therapist program
This is a concrete way to help Interns and Associate Social Workers to gain entrance into the field. Because the Center for Personal & Relational Development adheres to California labor laws as well as to those set forth by the BBS, we cannot make internship opportunities available unless there are funds with which to pay Interns and ASW’s legally and fairly, and to cover all of the expenses associated with their employment. Most private practice model internships do not comply with these standards, but we recognize that doing so is necessary in order to be an equal opportunity employer. Our inability to hire interns and ASW’s unless they have client revenue already is a catch-22 for therapists who are just getting started. By contributing to our Launch a Therapist program, you literally create an opportunity that will otherwise not exist. Contact the Executive Director for details about how this works.

Make a donation
The Center for Personal & Relational Development is a labor of love, but as most of us know or find out, love is not enough. Monetary contributions will help us significantly to deliver valuable counseling and psychotherapeutic services to the public and quality training and support for the therapy community. Please contact the Executive Director if you are interested in making a contribution.

Volunteer to Supervise
Imagine supervising without any of the liabilities, confusion, hassle, and paperwork involved in hiring an intern or ASW as an employee! We handle everything so you can simply focus on the clinical and professional development aspects of new therapists. Obviously, what you can offer is a profound and significant role in someone’s life and a crucial aspect of the Center for Personal & Relational Development. We offer our supervisors quarterly consultation meetings, and highly talented interns with whom to work. If there is someone you already want to work with, don’t hesitate to discuss this possibility with us. For more information about supervising at the Center for Personal & Relational Development, contact the Clinical Director.

Provide Office Space
Probably our biggest expense is office space, and it’s especially difficult when we are starting out new therapists who may have only one or two clients. Partial and full-day office space, either donated or offered at reduced costs helps enormously in creating possibility for our therapists. Please contact the Executive Director if you have office space available. This helps not only our therapists, but also our mission of offering affordable counseling to the public.

Offer a CEU Course
The Center for Personal & Relational Development is BBS-certified CEU provider (PCE4538). If there is a course you would like to offer, we handle all of the administrative aspects of providing it, including assistance with marketing. This is a fabulous way of gaining experience, sharing your interests and expertise, and of promoting your work and your practice. Please contact the Clinical Director if you are interested in exploring this possibility with us.

Volunteer your therapeutic services
Working with a few or even a couple of Center for Personal & Relational Development client per week at your office can be a meaningful and satisfying way of contributing to our non-profit organization. Please contact the Clinical Director if this is something you might be interested in doing.
