Introduction to Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy:
A somatic, relational, experiential model
AEDP, as developed by Diana Fosha, Ph.D., is an attachment-based, somatic and affectively oriented psychotherapeutic approach that facilitates deep transformation through relationship with an emotionally attuned, empathic and affirming therapist. This introductory workshop will demonstrate the use of moment-to-moment tracking of somatic and relational experiences to facilitate healing, activate self-righting tendencies and facilitate transformation. This is a highly rewarding approach, which can be transformational for the therapist as well as the client. The workshop will include theory and videotape to give participants a sense of how AEDP works.
Karen Pando-Mars, MFT has trained and consulted intensively with Diana Fosha and is an AEDP Institute Faculty Member and Certified AEDP therapist. She is Co-Director of the Center for Transformative Therapies in San Rafael and is one of the founders of AEDP West. She sees individuals and couples for psychotherapy and leads consultation/training groups for psychotherapists.
