Anger is a normal and even necessary emotion. It helps us to preserve, assert, motivate, and define ourselves.

But at what point does our anger cross a line causing harm to others, our relationships, and ourselves?

Anger management is about learning how to seize the reins, to use our anger constructively rather than allowing it to run wild and destructively.

This is a skill and even an art that everyone needs to learn somehow. For those of us that come from families or environments where anger was excessive or repressed, counseling and psychotherapy can be an ideal place to learn how to handle this emotion more effectively and productively.
